This tour, called Take a Piece of Me with You, will be led by Louise Yingduo Liu, Alphawood Gallery Associate, and will focus on the interactive artworks in Art AIDS America. Works by artists and collectives such as Félix González-Torres, Karen Finley, fierce pussy and Ryan Conrad will be discussed. Some of these participatory works invite the addition of elements or content, while others encourage visitors to take a piece with them. This diminishing physicality renders a sense of loss and represents the fragility of life, carrying a sense of tranquil grief that is beautiful yet heartbreaking.
